Question

Publish a major or minor update

Hello,

we are having difficulties with publishing a minor update of our Lightroom plugin. Current version of the plugin is 1.4.3, but we plan to release a new version with the 1.5.0 version number. When we initiate a new update by clicking  on "Upload patch" on the product site (in Adobe Producer Portal), we find that a new draft product will be created with the version number 1.4.4.

We went through all the possibilities, which are:

- adding the zipped version of the lrplugin folder to the files along with a mxi metadata where the plugin version is defined

- adding the self-packaged zxp file

The result was never the expected, as the plugin's version stayed 1.4.4 instead of the expected 1.5.0 that was defined in the metadata.

Please, can somebody share the correct way of achieving this!

Thanks

When you upload initially, the Addon Store interface will guess at what the next version will be, only towards the end of the submission process will it actually read the CSXS manifest XML file and get the true version out of it.

If you haven't gone through all the menus, all the way to the end of the process when you are given 2 options (Submit & Submit with Auto Publish) then try that.

You don't need to hit Submit, just get to that point in the process and the UI should give you an accurate readout of the version

Thanks for sharing this, the new version is already submitted and it cannot be undone, so we'll try that next time.

In the meanwhile, can you please tell what is the correct way of uploading the new version with the prepared manifest file. Last time I was doing the following steps:

1. In Adobe Exchange Packager I choosed to create a new package from common files.

2. Added the *.lrplugin directory and set the install location

3. I've set up the certificate, so the package was signed by our own certificate.

4. After the package was successfully created, I clicked on "Upload patch" on the product site.

5. In the section where uploading files is possible I added the created zxp file.

6. After it was uploaded and waiting a minute, I clicked on the "download package" to check the zxp.

7. Here I found, that the zxp that I've just uploaded was part of the created package, which means that it was added as a new file section in the manifest file with the file location $userdatafolder/Adobe/Lightroom/Modules.

So I suppose this not the way how the zxp upload should be done. Do you know what would be the appropriate way?

Thanks in advance!
