Question

Saving custom extension data within a PSD

Hey everyone, I am developing my first CEP extension panel for Photoshop. I would like a way to store arbitrary data with the PSD file so that the extension state matches the file. What is the best way to achieve this? Using document.info? Using xmpMetadata?

Any suggestions would be highly appreciated. Thanks!

I would certainly recommend using XMPMetadata using your own namespace.

However, keep in mind those data can be seen by end-user so don't store critical data.

If you need something really hidden deep into the file, my wild guess is that you would need C++

I would suggest asking the question in the Photoshop scripting forum for better feedback.

xmpMetadata is easy to work with but I can't compare it with document info.
