Visible dragged & dropped files filepaths

In the browser, when you drag&drop a file onto an area , you get some info about the file, but not the filepath, it just returns 'undefined'. I've tried this in my Premiere Pro panel, and here it DOES result in returning the correct filepath.

I was/am planning on using this to drag&drop files onto my panel, then upload them, but is this OK to do? Is this something that may be changed or deprecated in future releases? Is there simply a better way to do this?

I think so. Such dragging would be from the OS, right? PPro won't give you a path, if you drag-n-drop a projectItem onto your panel.

Yes; It'd be short-sighted of us to say otherwise. We have no planned changes to CEP drag-n-drop behavior at this time.

Is there simply a better way to do this?

If the uploaded files are all projectItems, I would instead have your panel check the current project panel selection (see PProPanel for example), and when someone clicks your panel's "Upload all selected media" button, walk across all selected projectItems, and get each one's path that way.
