Question

Can't Activate Fireworks

My old laptop just died, so I've reinstalled AC Suite 3, Web Standard (on Windows 10).  It installed fine, and I activated Dreamweaver without issue.  I'm now trying to use Fireworks, but every time I attempt to activate it, it's telling me that I'm not connected to the Web.  You can see from the screenshot below that I am (I hovered over the network icon to show my connection).  Any ideas on why I might be encountering this obstacle, or what I need to do to fix it?  Any insight is greatly appreciated, as I use it kind of often.

Adobe shut down the CS3 Activation server last year so you won't be able to activate any CS3 products.

Activation or connection error when starting CS3 or Acrobat 8

    • Uninstall the CS3 software you have installed
    • Obtain a new CS3 installer and serial number from Adobe at the above link
    • Install the new non-activation software using the new non-activation serial number. Your existing serial number will not work.

John, thanks for your help. Unfortunately I'm still missing something.  I uninstalled CS3 and obtained the new CS3 installer and serial number without issue.  The "Read me" files said to then reinstall using the disk.  Obviously I've done something incorrectly because after the install, it's still prompting me for a serial number to activate, bringing me right back to where I started.  What am I missing?
