Fading colors

Good morning all,

New to this forum and really a novice with FW.  What is the easiest way to fade colors say black to blue or vice-versa? I have letters that I am trying to create a graphic with.  We are looking for creative ways to come up with a new brand for a mascot.  I work for a school district police department.  I want to create the effect of a fade left to right in efforts of a "separation", for lack of better terms, of HIPPO and POLICE without a separation in the letter spacing.  Clear as mud right! Thoughts?

    Hi,

TBH I'm not 100% sure what you want to achieve, there are gradient tools which can be used on text (access from the properties panel at the bottom), it really depends on how complex you want the transition(s).

Fireworks also has masking tools that are easy to use and a feature called Auto Vector Mask that simplifies the process of fading in/out elements you can find it in in the menus:  Commands > Creative > Auto Vector Mask
