Fireworks CS6: Missing Effects and Filters

Hello,

I've recently been handed off a Fireworks CS5 file (it's a PNG, unfortunately) and it's missing Effects and Filters. I also opened it in Fireworks CS6 and same issue.

I'm missing the following:

Bevel

Glass

Extrude

I'm at a loss on what to do with this file. If I open it other programs it's destroys the files set up and Adobe no longer supports Fireworks. Any advice on how to fix these missing filters/effects or how to migrate this file to another Adobe program (without losing Artboards, fonts, effects, ect.) please let me know.

Thank you!

Its 100% the Eye Candy 5 filters. Whoever created the Fireworks PNG had the Eye Candy 5 (or earlier version) plugin installed and used the bevel, glass and extrude effects thats why Fireworks complains about these missing effects when you open the file .....

Solutions are:

a) install the The Eye Candy v5 Impact Plugin

or

b) Ask the person sho created the file in Fireworks to flatten any layers that the Eye Candy effects have been applied to

Only alternative to installing the eye candy plugin is ask whoever supplied the PNG to flatten the layers that the effects have been applied to

Hi,

Is it possible to share the PNG ? I'm thinking the PNG was created with 3rd party live effects.

If I'm not mistaken bevel, glass and extrude are all third party effects from the Eye Candy series. The last version to be support by Fireworks was Eye Candy 5.

Do you have a copy of 'Alien Skin Eye Candy 5 Impact' plugin? You need to install it as a plugin for Fireworks and that will solve your problem.

I'm not sure I can share the PNG since it has all of our software's icons. I searched the previous file holders computer and could not find anything having to do with "Alien Skin Eye Candy 5 Impact".

And I have to say the previous person was not a Graphic Designer or trained in Adobe. I doubt he used third-party effects. Is it possible the effects came from an older version of Photoshop? I'm not familiar with Fireworks and I'm unsure where it actually pulls these filters and effects from.
