Fireworks isn't gone...Adobe told me

I spent a stressfull morning trying to get Fireworks, a program I have used for years, but thought was gone. Imagine how happy I was when the Adobe support rep on chat this moring told me I could still install Fireworks if I purchased an "all apps subscription" for just $52.99 per month.

At the end of the chat session, and after buying the all apps subscription, I asked for directions to download Fireworks.  Only to be told, oh, well you simply download Illustrator 'cause that's the new Fireworks. Say what????

Oh, and they also told me I'd get a hard copy of the chat session, which I have yet to receive...

Sounds to me like Adobe may just have a corporate culture issue!

To install Fireworks on Windows you need to enable older apps, in the Creative Cloud app go to preferences > apps > show older apps

I no longer trust Adobe for any of my needs!  My work offers a creative cloud subscription and I use it; however, as a teacher, I never recommend Adobe products.  The reason I discourage students/people from using Adobe is because of how they determined "I had gotten my money out of my Fireworks program."  I purchased this program and wanted to install it on my new computer but Adobe decided to block my purchase trying to get me to buy a new product.  What a scam!!!  Their excuse was they couldn't afford to keep a server running to verify product keys.  Send an update out to fix this!!

Sorry you feel that way.  Fortunately, your views are NOT shared by 22 million Creative Cloud subscribers. 🙂

GREAT!  Contact your IT dept for assistance.

1. Fireworks is end of life software from 2012.

2. Nobody is fixing anything in it anymore.  The entire Fireworks team left the building ages ago.

3. If you wish to use legacy Fireworks, you do so at your own risk.

You will need the following:

   a) a computer that supports 10+ year old, 32-bit software.

   b) a paid subscription to Creative Cloud ALL Apps plan.

   c) an IT dept who can generate the legacy Fireworks package for you.

Failing any or all of the above, there are more modern alternatives you could use.

I believe you should be able to cancel your subscription within 14 days.

If you are on Windows, Fireworks is still part of the Adobe CC. You can find it under the old/legacy apps. If you are on Mac: no longer supported.

But really: even if you are on Windows, it is just not worth the asking price of the full CC suite just to be able to use Fireworks.

*Not supported on Mac if you have the latest macOS Catalina due to it not supporting 32bit apps.
