Fireworks MX 2004 Serial Number not working

I bought Fireworks MX 2004 back in 2006, which has been working until this month.

I have asked for the serial number which I have added, and it gets a green tick when entered, BUT I keep getting an error message claiming internet failure, as the cause of the failure to activate my Fireworks MX 2004.

It suggest contacting via phone.

I have contacted the Adobe support option, but the person I chatted to online, had no idea how to begin to resolve what should be an easy problem to sort out.

Any ideas on how to resolve this problem?????????????????????????
