fireworks not working

I am 66 years old and have been woring with Macromedia Fireworks since 2009. This is the only design software I know and have purchased. I have upgraded my computer and now my fireworks is not working at all. Apparently Macromedia sold to Adobe. I have tried everything to contact Adobe with absolutely no response. How come you purchase outrightly and then the software is switched off. This is theft as far as I am concerned. Me, at the age of 66 to try and start learning a new graphics software platform is going to be really difficult. All I am asking for is what I paid for to work and nothing else. Please can somebody respond to this mail. Its as though Adbobe are hiding and do not want to take any responsibility. You are welcome to email me at [removed] or my mobile number is [removed] . Thanking you kindly. Gu

Gunstro, thanks for posting and I am glad you have enjoyed using Fireworks for so many years. You can find information on how to access non-subscription software titles at https://adobe.ly/4huQEZE. I don't see any software titles under the account you used to post to this public discussion forum, so please make sure you log in under the account you used to register Fireworks to access the necessary installation files. ^JW

Fireworks

Fireworks has been discontinued and is no longer available for purchase or support.

AFAIK, Fireworks is not responding to normal activation methods. This issue has been reported by other users many, many times in this product community. There appears to be no solution except to replace FW with other graphics apps.

My advice is to use Photopea, free online editor, to open layered PNG files. Then convert those files to  layered TIFFs or PSDs that can be edited by other graphics apps.

FIREWORKS REPLACEMENTS:

Photoshop Elements, Photoshop CC, Illustrator, Adobe Express.

Hope that helps.

@gunstro

Adobe purchased Macromedia in 2005, and Fireworks has been at end of life for years.

What is your OS and version? I know macOS will not run older software. You should be able to continue to use Fireworks on your older computer.

I moved your post to the Fireworks forum in case someone here can help you or that you may find an answer by scrolling through previous posts.

if you don't find any software that meets your needs in @Jeffrey_A_Wright 's link AND you still want to use your fireworks, what version is it and what problem do you see when trying to use fireworks?
