Question

Fireworks tells me that the trial is over and wants a serial number

This started all of a sudden. When i open fireworks i get a "trial expired" box when i try to click through it asks for a serial number. I dont have one. What now?

Chat support (person named Akhil) told me fireworks isnt included with creative cloud but thats nonsense because i have been paying since 2013 for creative cloud specifically for access to Fireworks. Im on with the chat person right now and hes telling me that i am not allowed to install firworks even though i just did it using creative cloud app. I have asked this person 4 times now to transfer me to someone who knows what they are doing and he refuses.

My laptop runs fireworks just fine. My desktop has the issue. I know this is some registry bug or something. Any ideas? Thanks.

For some Windows users with the full Creative Cloud subscription, this odd workaround has worked:

Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\OOBE\PDApp\core\PDapp.exe => right click the exe => compatibility tab => check 'run this program as an administrator => click OK

Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Fireworks CS6\Fireworks.exe => right click the exe => compatibility tab => make sure 'run this program as an administrator' is NOT checked.

Do a system restart for good measure and see if you can launch/run  Fireworks without the nag screen

I am having the same problem as @39CentStamp. I tried @Paul-M's "odd workaround," but I am still getting the "Your Trial Has Expired" nag screen. I know I shouldn't be "clinging to legacy apps," as @Nancy OShea writes.

If you don't want to take a look at Photoshop, you can try Photopea, a web based app that can open layered Fireworks PNGs or Affinity Designer which is the nearest thing to Fireworks that I've seen.

I don't really like the word Legacy when talking about Fireworks, Adobe may have abandoned it but it is still a very capable app and there is nothing that quite replaces it on the market today.

There's a weird workaround that involves installing Adobe Muse to get Fireworks working too, apparently it has worked for some people.

I just looked at what is available, and I do not see Fireworks included

check your account to verify your subscription is what you expect and to verify your adobe id, https://account.adobe.com

then sign out and back in to your cc desktop application using the same adobe id used to verify your subscription: http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/sign-in-out-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html
