Hi - This is the first time posting here. And I recommend you read this first.
Hi - My name is Ian Hatchett and I'm 34 (that's important and you'll learn why later). Today tried to launch Adobe Fireworks today. I tried to buy an individual copy when I found out it was no longer available through Creative Cloud. I tried to contact someone beyond the keyboards of the help chat. Instead I'm left posting my feelings here.
I want to tell you why I mentioned my age, but for that I have to start in 2002, when I was studied web design in college. I happened to meet the amazing woman who would later became my wife there that year as well. I was also introduced to Macromedia Fireworks 4 as part of my course, as the years passed and I left college, I became a web developer, then project manager, art shop sales assistant, pen and paper RPG club runner, night club glass collector, dad (9 years ago), husband (7 years ago), web developer (again), graphics designer and then company director. Meanwhile Fireworks 4 became Fireworks MX, MX 2004, 8, Adobe Fireworks CS3 (Adobe acquired Macromedia), CS4, CS5 and CS6. Of my 34 years, I have spent 17 of them with one graphics tool as my go to, even when I was comfortable with Illustrator and Indesign. That's half of my life.
I've just finished arguing with Sales and Technical staff. There seems to be no way for me to access (at least in an editable format) most of the artwork I've produced in half of my lifetime as it's "not supported". I understand it's old, unsupported and liable to not work on an OS at some point. But the kick in the teeth is that it ran on my laptop last week.
If you've read this far I want to apologise and thank you for reading this. I'm sorry for selecting all the topics below, but at the moment I'm upset and angry. I tried to find a complaints email, so that I didn't have to bother the "wider public" but all I found were "Live Chat" and excuses.
If anyone can help - my email is (Email Address Removed by Moderator) (as it has been since 2002).
