Initializing User Files then Crash

Hi

I'm in a bit of a panic here.  I cannot get Adobe Fireworks started.  I have been using Fireworks CS5 for years but there is no way I can get it started.  It goes as far as 'Initialising User files' and doesnt go any further.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times, done all the updates but still no joy.  I have also removed all registery entries and user preference folders etc.  I have al tried to run it in compatibility mode.

Interestingly I am also having problems running Adobe Acrobat.  WHen I open a file it opens fine then suddenly crashes.  All other Adobe products are working fine.

Any advice or suggestions appreciated.
