after the new Mac OS I wanted to download the dmg files from your site and then install them. I have downloaded them but when I click the install icon i get a messages saying: “Install” needs to be updated. The developer of this app needs to update it to work with this version of macOS. Contact the developer for more information.

Hi - Fireworks won't work on Catalina as its 32 bit - Adobe stopped updating/supporting Fireworks a long time ago (a terrible decision in my humble opinion), so there won't be a 64 bit version (I'd be very surprised anyway). Options are limited; rollback to Mojave, set up a dual boot or switch to Windows if you want to use Fireworks

Adobe needs to make a import function of Photoshop for fw.png files or at least a conversion utility. Is there no apps out there can open a fw.png file on Catalina+?

Here are some Fireworks batch commands for converting fireworks PNGs to various formats - they might be of some use to you. Copy them to your commands folder and restart Fireworks if all ready running 🙂

Why can't Adobe bring it back? Thousands of people use it and have never found anything as useful

It's one thing to not update an application like this (which is rediculous) but why can't Adobe create a transition path for native Fireworks .png files that have been created using the Fireworks app so that we can at least open them up in another application or transfer them to another format.  It is reasons like this that people leave this platform.  If Adobe does this with Fireworks, then what's to stop them from dropping other applications and file formats in the future.  It just shows that Adobe does not care about it's users.  I spent years of time building demo design apps using Fireworks.  And now all of that effort has been thrown away by Adobe.  Someone please tell me where I am wrong here in my analysis.  Thanks.

" what's to stop them from dropping other applications and file formats in the future. " Nothing. Adobe constantly refocus their attention, and Fireworks was just one in a long series of abandoned web tools.

"transition path for native Fireworks .png files that have been created using the Fireworks app" If it is actually a PNG, there are many apps that can open it.

"And now all of that effort has been thrown away by Adobe.  Someone please tell me where I am wrong here in my analysis. " No, if you went to Catalina (if you did), you threw it away by recklessly upgrading your system. If you want to freeze in time, you have to free everything, not just some old apps.
