Select entire image including all frames

I want to copy a png file that has frames for animation, but when I do  a Select-All, not all the frames get selected, so when I do a copy / paste to another location I don't get the entire image and the animation does not work properly.

 

How can I select the entire image, including all the frames?  I am using an old version (Fireworks 4) on Windows 10.

    Hi - can you expand exactly what you want to achieve - in the states panel there is an option 'duplicate state' - right click on any state

     

    You can also select multiple states in the states panel with ctrl+click or shift+click, once multiple states are selected you drag to the the 'new/duplicate/state' icon at the bottom of the states panel and all the selected states are duplicated.

    I think, at least it is what I understood, what @Clark24045725h6pw wants to do is to select one or more objects on the document and copy not only the object(s) themselves but also all their their respective States, previously called Frames

    Yes that is what I am trying to do. 

    I have a png file with frames and I want to do a "Select All" and actually have everything (a layer with frames) selected.

    Think of how you would copy a simple jpg image.  You would open the image in Fireworks,  select the image, do Edit / Copy,  then Edit/Paste. then drag the pasted image to a new location in the Fireworks window.  That results in two identical jpg images.

     

    I want to do the same thing with a png file containing a layer with frames, in this case, it's a revolving wheel created using frames. I want to do a Select All which would capture the entire image, complete with the layer and its frames.  I then want to paste it to a new location in the same fireworks window just as with the jpg example above.  Then when I click the animation arrow, I want to see both wheels rotating in synchronization --  the second wheel being an exact copy of the first wheel.

     

    I'm beginning to think it's impossible.  

     

    If the original wheel has five frames to cause the motion, the second wheel should have  five identical frames.

    I don't remember having such a need, in fact whenever I need animated elements that need to be reused or stand alone, I use symbols.

    Anyway I understand your need... try John Dunning or Aaron Beall, see if they don't have a command that does the job...
