Question

Swap an old windows version to the Mac?

I know this is a long shot, but I had fireworks for windows a few years ago and the Mac many years prior. I have a Mac now and I'm wondering if there is any way to use a Mac installer with my old windows code? I'm pretty sure the older one I had wouldn't be compatible with anything. I really miss fireworks.

Thanks

Which Mac operating system do you have?

The option to swap platforms ended when Creative Cloud released in 2013.  CC apps will work on Windows/Mac or both.

A paid Creative Cloud ALL Apps plan will give you access to legacy Fireworks if your operating system can support it.  Unfortunately, Fireworks is NOT fit for use on Catalina, Big Sur or Monterey which only support 64-bit applications.

No, impossible. A Windows version will not run on a Mac, and vice versa. The latest Mac OS will not even run Fireworks for Mac, because Fireworks is a 32bit application, and only 64bit applications are supported. And the newest Macs utilize a completely different CPU architecture as well.

That said, it is possible to install a virtual machine with an older version of Windows in it on your new Mac, and install your old Fireworks. Parallels for Mac will work, even on the newer M1 Macs.

Probably best to find an old copy of Windows XP and install that in the virtual machine to run your old Fireworks copy.
