10.2 not working on WinXP SP3 Firefox or IE8

Hi there,

We have about 250 Windows PC's (Mix of HP DC7800/7900/8000elites), running Windows XP SP3 and IE8 and Firefox 3.6.13. Since this latest update users have complained they cannot see any youtube content, the screen is black. I have tried unticking hardware acceleration but still have the same issue, I have uninstalled Flash for both IE and FF and installed Flash 10.1 (I have downloaded and tested all variants of 10.1 Zip archives), and I STILL have the same problem.

Flash 10.2 is working fine on my Windows 7 PC's in IE 8 and FF 3.6.13.

Because we have so many PC's I am testing on one fresh SOE that is known good and I still get the same issue. So I am not going to go stuffing around looking for killbits in registry, I want Adobe to fix this or explain why it is happening and provide a solution please. I am waiting for some response.

Hi, I just finished reading your messages. I'm glad it's fixed, but just wanted to make a comment. Do you think a reboot was needed? What was happening is that either that(reboot) or the ActiveX Control in the IE browser and the plugin in FF were disabled during the first Uninstall/Install.

This does happen and perhaps after the repeated Uninstalls/Installs, they got Enabled.

Just a thot that might explain that.

    Thanks,

    Hi there,

Thanks for getting back to me.

Suddenly everything started working and I hadn't pushed out any fixes to users and it just started to work again.

    Anyway I am just relieved.

    Thanks

    John

Thanks. It's bad enough when one computer is not working correctly, but with as many as you have, it's a big headache:-)

    I'd be relieved too!!

Well it appears to have fixed itself. Now all users can see Youtube again and I have done nothing here that would have fixed it.

I think perhaps Youtube resolved the issue at their end.

    Thanks.
