Question

11.2.202.228 large print jobs

Hello,

We've identified a problem with the latest version of Flash Player, 11.2.202.228, in which on some PCs, it causes the size of print jobs submitted through the Flash print process to balloon by approximately 10x compared to previous versions.  It appears to be browser independent; we've confirmed the behavior with IE9, Firefox 3.6 & 11, and Chrome.  We've also confirmed it is specified to this version by toggling the Flash player version back and forth between this new version and 11.1.102.63.  On affected PCs, print jobs are consistently small on 11.1.102.63, and large on 11.2.202.228.  It does seem to affect all PCs using 11.2.202.228, but we have not yet been able to identify why some work and others don't.

Has anyone else encountered or reported this bug?  If it is known by Adobe, is there any known common factor or workaround available (other than rolling back your Flash player version)?  Will this be fixed in the next version?

Thank you for your assistance.

Update: We have now identified 10.3.183.18 as also faulty; same problem.  That version was also released on 3/28/2012, concurrent with 11.2.202.228.

    11.1.102.63 is fine.

We believe this is fixed in our Flash 11.3 beta 1 that was just released, if you get a chance could you give it a try?  We're still looking into other workarounds that might be available for you.

    Thanks,

    Chris

Correction: "It does NOT seem to affect all PCs using 11.2.202.228,"
