    Hi, I would check Services and make sure Windows Audio Services has not stopped. If it has then Restart it.

    (classic view) :: Start > Settings > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services >

    (non-classic) :: Computer (right click)  > Manage > Services and Applications > services >

    (one of the above, then) :: [scroll down to 'Windows Audio'] > r-click 'properties', general tab, set the start-up type to manual (in the dropdown), and click the start button on the next line.

    Hopefully that will take care of it.

         P.S. I meant to add that if you had to restart the service, then after it has restarted, go back in and set the start-up

    type to "Automatic", so it will start that way.

    Hi. eidnolb.  Thank you for the information unfortunatly it hasnt helped. Its odd because skype works well video and sound headset or speakers. just playing an audio cd that works fine so it just seems to be with the flash player. hopfuly you may have some other ideas ?
