adobe flash installation fails at 5%, can't install

Hi, i have a Mac running Yosemite and can't install flash player. I've tried the regular install, didn't work, says lost connection around the 30% mark. I ran the uninstall and tried the direct install (offline one) and it gets fails at 5%. I've even done a clean install and have rebooted several times. I'm out of ideas. thanks in advance for any help trying to resolve this issue.
