I am using a Macbook os 10.11, attempting to install the current adobe flash. I do not have any current flash installed and i have exhausted all of the other trouble shooting options. The install gets to 50% and fails each time.

I had the same problem and tried many options to fix my Safari version of Adobe Flash Player on my Mac OS 10.11.6.  What worked for me was not to use the default installer but the one suggested at the bottom of page:  https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player-mac.html

Still having problems?

If you are still having trouble installing Adobe Flash Player, try downloading the installer directly from the following sites:

While the offline installer suggested by my colleague will most likely work, I'd like to get the install log files from you to investigate further.  Please review the FAQ Where do I find the Flash Player installation log on the Macintosh?  and provide all files listed in the FAQ (install.log, FlashPlayerInstallManager.log, Adobe_ADM.log, and Adobe_GDE.log).  Upload the files to cloud.acrobat.com/send using the instructions at How to share a document  and post the link to the uploaded files in your reply.

Thank you.
