Half way through downloading Adobe Flash Player it stops & asks me to close Safari even when I've already closed it? infact everything is closed but it wont let me finish the download.  I have a new up to date imac that does not have Adobe Flash Player on it.

Thank you in advance

Download the FULL installer:  Flash Player 13.0.0.201 (Mac OS X)

Save it and Quit Safari.

Double check in Activity Monitor (Applications/Utilities>Activity Monitor) that there are NO processes running for Safari, Dashboard or "MenuTab", if you have that installed.

Run it as a COCOA install:

Double click the DMG to mount it.

DO NOT run the installer - right click (Ctrl+click) it to "Show Package Contents".

In Contents/Resources, double click the Adobe Flash Player.pkg file.

The COCOA installer will open.

Follow the steps to install.

Terminate the Safari update checker in Activity Monitor.
