Adobe Flash Player Does Not show up on add-ons

Flash Player for movies and gives me an error message saying that I need to update to the newest version and gives a link. When I  the link and install the newest version I still get the same message. I checked add-ons Firefox and Adobe Flash Player doesn't show up as an  add-on or plug-in. What is the problem?

Did you try enabling Flash in the browser?  Please post a screenshot of the Flash Player Settings Manager Updates tab:

  • Windows: Control Panel\All Control Panel Items > Flash Player > Updates
    • If you do not see the Flash Player item, select to view by 'Small icons'
  • Mac: System Preferences > Flash Player > Updates
