Adobe Flash Player Isn't Working

I have a Mac computer, and I was trying to download the newest version of Adobe Flash Player. I've downloaded it before, but this time it's not working and it's driving me crazy. I can't watch videos or anything, it's replaced with "Blocked-Plug in" as shown in the picture. I shut down my Mac and retried it, but that doesn't work. Neither does pressing "command option escape." I'm a wee bit frustrated because I've been trying this for close to an hour.     I have the exact same problem on my Mac computer.  Flash player worked for years, and now it won't.  So did you ever get an answer or not?
