Question

Adobe Flash Player Not working...

Operating system

Microsoft Windows 8.1

Web browser and version

Google Chrome 57.0.2987.133

Flash Player version

25.0.0.148

Explain your problem in step-by-step detail if possible

Adobe Flash Player just doesn't seem to want to cooperate at all. If I visit an 'https' page that uses Flash, all that is displayed is a grey screen and a message saying "Right-click to run Adobe Flash Player". If I right-click the message and select "Run this plugin", absolutely nothing happens. Alternatively, if I visit an 'http' or 'www' page that also uses Flash, I am greeted with a BLACK screen and a message saying "Couldn't load this plugin."

I don't remember when I last updated Flash, but I've been attempting to follow Adobe's released step-by-step guides and nothing seems to be working. This started last night, immediately after I initiated a System Restore on my laptop. I only went back about 5 days, and I'm certain nothing happened in that time that could have caused Adobe Flash Player to "break", for lack of a better word.

A direct link to a web page that demonstrates the problem

I found these links on someone else's forum (hopefully they don't mind me using them) and while I've never actually used them myself, they accurately represent the problems I'm currently having:

If you get error messages, please quote them exactly, or provide a screenshot

Here are screenshots of the error messages that appear on each of the sites:

    Hi,

    The links you posted for www.terezakis.com appear to not function due to a server side issue, as is stated on that topic, Flash content displays when using http or www, but not when using https .  Since you're reporting those links I suspect you've read the reply from a staff member stating the server is reporting error 403 - forbidden when the content attempts to load the swf file.  If you have other links that exhibit the same issue, please post them here, otherwise, we don't have much to go on since the links you're reporting already don't function correctly (most likely due to a server/content issue).

    <edit>
    Google Chrome embeds Flash Player and updates are distributed by Google.  Version 25.0.0.148 is the latest version of Flash Player.
