I have Updated to windows IE 8 and Adobe Flash player will no longer work with IE.

After trying everything else on the website switched to Firefox and it works with that fine.

But it still will download but not recognize instalation with IE 8.

What is your operating system & version?

    Is that IE8 a 32-bit or 64-bit version?

Is Shockwave Flash object add-on enabled in Internet Explorer (Tools | Add-ons)?

Hi Had same problem. Here is my solution.

I had to RE-BOOT into SafeMode with network as Administrator so nothing was loaded including my Antivirus and firewall and then downloaded the Uninstaller from Adobe (http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/191/tn_19166.html#main Uninstall) , save it to desktop, CLOSE BROWSER, Run the Uninstall from the desktop link, Then RE-BOOT again into Safemode with network as Administrator to update registry, open browser and go to Abobe again and run their about link to make sure Flash has been uninstalled (http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/191/tn_19166.html#main DetermineVersion). It will display version installed if the uninstall did not work or a prompt to install Flashplayer if it finds nothing on your computer. Allow download and CLOSE BROWSER before you click on Install ( You should just have the desktop and the download/install boxes showing at this time and nothing running that might use Flash or firewall the installation). Then RE-BOOT again into normal mode and I had Flash working again.

The above links were from the Adobe Support Flashplayer Troubleshooting site where more options are available. (http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/191/tn_19166.html

ie. uninstall and reinstall in Safe mode with re-boots at each stage and no browser running.
