Question

Adobe Flash Player won't work after updating

I went over this issue on the phone with an Apple Support person to make sure my computer was working correctly and that I downloaded the Flash player correctly, and after about an hour of troubleshooting and trying Flash Player on Firefox, Safari, AND Chrome, I still can't watch anything on HBOGo because I get a prompt to update Flash player even though I just installed it. I have a Mac OS X 10.6.8. Please help!

I am not an expert and I have not consulted any professionals. Here is my opinion. As I am having the same issue, I have done lots of troubleshooting and googling and experimenting. The conclusion I came to is that adobe flash has security issues so HBO allows only the latest flash to work, chrome on OSX10.6.8 only goes up to flash version 21, latest is 23. This means you need to update chrome butty you cannot unless you update to OSX10.9 or higher. Also safari has updated flash but safari version is 5.1 (or something) and is out dated and won't load the website. So I found I have to pay $19.99 U.S. for OSX10.7 then I can upgrade to the new macOS sierra. This should hopefully solve the problem. I will let you all know after I have downloaded and installed 10.7 thru 10.12.

It doesn't crash my browser but it just won't play the show on HBOGo. Also my macbook won't get upgrades of Google Chrome anymore so I'm wondering if that might explain why? I don't know. I would LOVE an answer to this!

I'm using Pepper Flash, the most recent version. I'll look at those links but I feel like others must be having this problem too..
