Hello--I have an hp pavillion latop, 1 1/2 years old.  no problems

using or viewing any video, until downloaded new version of Flash player.  I have windows 7, home premium 64bit op system. internet explorer 9

read alot of forums, tried uninstalling adobe using the uninstaller from adobe website, I did this uninstall using both 64 and 32 bit versions.

then I would download the adobe new version again, using the 32 bit IE.  still works in youtube, but any other website that has video, it will not work. all you get in other sites, isthe sound, but no video, sometimes, black bars and sometimes it flickers.  it worked fine before this.

I also have a brand hew hp laptop, with the new version, same op system, and flash player works fine, in you tube, and other websites.

Should I try to uninstall from control panel, remove software?  It tried updating graphics drivers but it said they were updated.

I am not a technical user, but I have read many forums and tried many different things on this pavillion, and I still cannot get it to work on any other sites---it only works on youtube site.  can anyone tell me, what I should try next?  thanks

    hello and thanks

    I just tried to download from the link and it did--when I went to install it, it says it is not validated for my computer;

when I try to do updates with device manager, it says my driver is up to date.

I did not uninstall the driver first, because I was afraid of losing it, as I am not a technical user. I am not sure the link you sent me, will work if I uninstall my driver.

this is a hp pavillion windows 7 home premium, purchased in 2009

is there anything else I can try? clicking off the hardware excelleration did not work either

Was that Hardware Acceleration on Flash Player Settings?

If so, try also to disable IE9 hardware rendering; see http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2528233 (Use software rendering instead of GPU rendering).

hello.  I was able to download a different browser--Firefox Mozilla.

that also downloaded chrome.   when I went to launch utube, it told me adobe flash was out of date, and to download it.  I downloaded it, and I am now able to see video in utube, as well as some other sites, with no issues.

However, Windows Internet explorer 9, it will not work.  I am using the 32 bit version not the 64 bit (the 32 bit version actually says 256bit)

Can you let me know when I should try to download the adobe again, once they release the new version, you mention above?

will I need to use the 32bit or 64bit IE to do this?   Should I still uninstall it first, before I try to load it again?

    please let me know.

In the meantime, I am able to use firefox for viewing, and my windows IE for email

    regards

    JP

Version 10.3.183.7 has been released last night; you can download the installer for Internet Explorer from http://forums.adobe.com/thread/889580

The current release version of Flash Player will only work on 32-bit browsers.

If you still have problems with Internet Explorer 9, check

    • Tools, Add-ons: do you see Shockwave Flash Object, and is it enabled?
    • Tools, is ActiveX Filtering enabled?  (It must be disabled to view Flash content.)

I tried downloading it with the 256bit IE 9----I assume that is the 32 bit, as I only have 2 browsers--that one, and the 64 bit one.

it did not work, same problem. do I need to run the uninstaller?

I am afraid if I do that, the firefox browser I have, where flash IS working, will stop as well.

I have tried everything on this forum, and nothing works.  I paid 30.00 for tech support help and what I got was to download firefox, and install flash in that browser, and it worked.  what is wrong with IE 9?  can anyone tell me what to do?

please let me know if I should uninstall from ie 9 with the adobe installer, and then reinstall it again, thanks

Can you give an example of a site where Flash Player doesn't work?

Anyway, my recommendation for now is to wait for the new Flash Player version that will be released later today (or possibly tomorrow).
