Adobe not working for me...

Hey guys, so whenever i go to youtube, it tells me this...."Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Adobe's Flash Player. Get the latest Flash player. "

BUT, i have installed the flash player over 10 times, restarted my computer everytime i have installed it and yet it still says it. It's doing my head in so any suggestions on how to fix the problem will be fantastic.

    What browser and version?

    What do you see when you go to http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ - Flash animation? Version number?
