Adobe Shockwave Flash plugin crashes

For years now, I have been using Adobe Shockwave Flash player, and have had constant problems with the plugin being unresponsive and then the whole thing crashes. Doesn't seem to matter whether I use Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox, the problem persists. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program so many times I've lost count, but the problem persists. This last time I did this, I was forced to allow Norton Security to download with it - was not given the option to refuse that dowload, and now can't seem to get it to go away either. Can anybody please assist me?

To give you any useful advice, I'm going to need to know more about your computer and browser:

Please see the following guide on how to report a crash or error:

If you're using Firefox on Windows, and you have a 64-bit operating system, moving to 64-bit Firefox should give you a much better, more stable experience: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/

In my experience, Chrome is really stable.  It could be that the persistent crashes you're running into are actually problems with the underlying GPU hardware or drivers.  If you try disabling hardware acceleration and find that things are much more stable, it's time for a graphics driver update.
