I have been trying to download LeapReader for my daughter since Christmas. I have search online and followed all the suggestion give and still get "flash needs to be installed."

I have Windows 7 using IE. I have uninstalled the flash and LeapReader several time. After reinstalling it I check to see if its installed and I see moving clouds and it shows installed version 28. Besides returning the LeapReader I don't know what else to do. What I'm I missing?

    Hi,

I'm not at all familiar with LeapReader.  According to the website, LeapReader Reading and Writing System | Best Educational Kids Toys&nbsp| LeapFrog , it appears to be some kind of smart pen.  Reviewing the product details, it indicates it requires Flash Player, but doesn't specify for which one. There are 3 versions of Flash Player: Flash Player ActiveX Control for IE, Flash Player NPAPI plugin for Firefox, and Flash Player PPAPI plugin for Chromium-based browsers.

Looking through the LeapReader Support documents, it appears LeapReader works with a product named LeapFrog Connect (Getting included content for LeapReader - leapfrog  and Downloading audio for purchased LeapReader books - leapfrog ).  According to LeapFrog Connect prompts you to install the Adobe® Flash Player, but you already have it. - leapfrog LeapFrog Connect requires Flash Player NPAPI plugin, not the Flash Player ActiveX Control which you have installed for IE.

To download Flash Player NPAPI plugin using IE browser:

    1. Go to Adobe Flash Player Install for all versions
    2. In Step 1, select 'Windows7/Vista/XP'
    3. In Step 2, select 'FP 28 for Firefox - NPAPI'
      1. Note: There may be optional third party offers in the center panel.  These are pre-checked.  To decline them be sure to click the check-box to unselect the optional third party offers
    4. Click the yellow 'Download now' button
    5. The installer file will be saved to the default download location (usually the user's Downloads folder)
    6. Locate the installer file saved to your system, double-click to launch the installer and follow the onscreen prompts.
