Another Plea for Assistance

Flash player stopped working after update.  Cannot view internet videos on any site (youtube, etc.).  Have tried re-installing without any improvement.

XP Pro, IE 8, Trend Micro virus protection.

Have fiddled with Trend Micro settings, turned off pop-up blocker on IE toolbar--still no luck.

Please help.  TIA--much appreciated.

Hi, Using IE, go to Tools, Manage addons and under "Show" (very light text) look for Shockwave Flash Object. Make sure it is listed, Enabled and is the same version of Flash Player you have Installed.

You can also check here and can you see the Flash logo animation? Your version of Flash Player will also be displayed.

Thanks for replying!  I was hoping that you'd help me out.

    1)  Under IE, Tools, Manage Add-Ons, I looked at "Show"--which read "currently loaded add-ons".  Displayed Shockwave Active X Control 11.5 (File Date 3/19/09) and Shockwave Flash Object 10.1.102.64 (File Date 1/30/2011).

    2)  Went to the link and did NOT see the animation--all I see is white space at the top of the page.

Thanks, I get detailed and specific:-) So far so good on your addons. The first one is the Control for the Shockwave Player, which is different than Flash Player.

Was the Shockwave Flash Object Enabled? Go back to Show and find the All addons or Run without Permission, since it is there.

You should be able to see the animation if that Shockwave Flash Object is Enabled. If it is Enabled, then something else is wrong. Go to C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash  Open Flash and post back the files that are listed there.

You didn't say you used any other browsers so all that is there will be for IE.

    Thanks,

EDIT: That should be "if it is NOT Enabled"
