Arrow button overlaying images in Google Chrome

Hello

I am using Windows 8.1 on my notebook and have done all the necessary checks to confirm that the latest version of Adobe Flash Player is installed on my device. I am, however, experiencing some difficulty with static images which I believe were created using the above software. In particular, with some of these images, there is an arrow button (white circle with a grey forwarding-pointing arrow in the centre) overlaying them. This arrow button gives the reader the impression that there is a visual effect to view, whereas in fact, there is only a static image to view (as intended). If I view the same images on my office PC using an older version of Windows, I do not encounter this problem. Also, the problem is arising with Google Chrome but not Internet Explorer. I followed advice which I traced online re typing 'chrome://plugins/' into my Browser address space, enabling Adobe Flash Player and ensuring that the check box is ticked. There is no enable button on my screen for the relevant page, which I understand should mean that Adobe Flash Player is already enabled. Just in case it is helpful, I provide below the relevant content. Copy-pasting does not reveal that I have indeed ticked the check box.

Adobe Flash Player - Version: 24.0.0.194
Shockwave Flash 24.0 r0

Name:Shockwave Flash

Description:Shockwave Flash 24.0 r0 System

Version:24.0.0.194

Location:C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash\pepflashplayer32_24_0_0_194.dll

Type:PPAPI (out-of-process)

MIME types:
MIME typeDescriptionFile extensions
application/x-shockwave-flashShockwave Flash
.swf
application/futuresplashFutureSplash Player
.spl

Does anyone have any suggestions as to why the above problem has arisen and how it may be eliminated?

Many thanks

Best wishes

Margaret

    Hi Margaret,

Can you please try the following:

    1. Launch Chrome and navigate to chrome://flags/#run-all-flash-in-allow-mode
    2. Change the setting from Default to Enable
    3. Click the blue RELAUNCH NOW button at the bottom to relaunch Chrome

Does this fix the issue on Chrome?

    Dear Maria

The images are on a password protected Internet site, so I do not wish to share any links. However, the image below illustrates the button I defined in my previous message.
