Auto Updater for FlashPlayer for Mac

Question

Folks!MacBook Pro 15" Retina OSX 10.8.4Auto updater keeps coming up with a message: Flash player update available. But after downloading the update and trying to install it, a warning pops up saying "Safari and Firefox need to be closed" The weird thing is, I do not use Safari so it's never launched, so there's nothing to close, right? The updater still keeps coming up with the same message anyway. This way no update of Flsh Playwer ever gets installed...Any advise? Any idews?Big thanks, Jan

Download the offline installerQuit Firefox (reboot if necessary to kill all processes)Go to: Mac HD/library/Internet PluginsTrash the Flash Player.plugin fileGo to: MacHD/Library/Application Support/AdobeTrash the Flash Player folderEmpty the trashMount the DMG and run the Flash Player installerRelaunch FirefoxYou should be good to go
