I do OK with PowerPoint and it's  more flexible than some sites like Slide.com to make slide shows into  videos to post on my School/Class web site. So, I make my own PPT  slideshow and found a piece of SW to convert it to a SWF video that I  can show on the web site.

I'm having multiple problems just trying  to find out how to use this conversion ap.  First, the flash player to  play the thing while I'm checking out the conversion. Since Flash Player  is a browser addon, how does one go about checking out the SWF video?

On  my machine there's other question that may be causing problems.  If I  double click on the SWF file, a window entitled "Macromedia Flash Player  7" opens and sits there staring at me. (here I don't know who's  dumber)   Then I find out the converter has an output option to create  an EXE file. So, I do that then double click on it.  Up pops a window  entitled "Adobe Flash Player 9" that does what the other one does. (i  think i'm dumber).

So, at the urging of support from the converter  software company to delete 7 & 9, I try.  I cannot find anyway to  delete those executables.  They don't show up under the programs list  from the Staret button.  They don't show up in the program list from  "Add/Delete Programs" under Control Panel.

So, if they don't  exist, how can they actually pop up on my screen??

Then I'm back  to trying to check out the conversion SW. How is that to be done? Using  HTML only?  What if the HTML is messed up keeping the SWF video from  playing?

You know, sometimes I think I'm doing alright on the  computer for an old guy.   Then something like this happens and I feel  real old and dumb.

Help, if you don't mind.

To remove old Flash Player versions, download the uninstaller from http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html

The uninstaller will remove all versions of Flash Player, so you will have to install the latest version again.

You can use Adobe Media Player to play local Flash files.

Well, well, well .................... I downloaded the "uninstaller" and executed it. Macromedia Flash Player 7 still exists on my PC, as does Adobe Flash Player 9.  BUT, it did uninstall version 10, so I had to reinstall it.

Haven't tried Adobe Media Player yet. Will do right away.

Like I've said before, I know enough to be dangerous, but I'm not sure I understand how on this one EXE file created by the converter (there may be more on my PC) is started up under Adobe FP 9 when most EXE files are run independently.

Thanks for all help & comments.

Cannot find Adobe Media Player.  Do you know where I can find it?  Could you have meant M$ Media Player?

Thinking you may have, I tried it (open SWF with and selected M$MP) MP came up, had a small window with a message that my security settings wouldn't allow that operation.  There some security settings I don't know about  ??

    Thanks for your help.
