Being informed that I need Adobe Flash Player even after successfully downloading latest update :(

Hello I tried to watch a live stream tonight and a video yesterday and found out that I needed to download the latest version of Adobe Flash Player. I downloaded it and was informed that it was successful but when I try to view the video or live stream, I am still informed that I need to download the latest version of Adobe Flash Player. Why am I having this problem and how can it be fixed??
