Blue Screen and General Freezing- New 10.2 version

Forgive me if I sound a bit miffed, but just trying to sign up to ask for help has led to many problems and I'm not in a particularily great mood.

I run the newest version of FireFox, on a Windows Vista system, and when prompted, I updated my flash to the recently released. I first unecountered a freezing problem when trying to then use it, such as on Youtube, and when I checked here I learned about having the right click and uncheck a box. I don't remember now what it said, and it doesn't seem to exist for me anymore, but it worked and I didn't seem to have any further problems.

However, about the same time, I began having bluescreens instead. The error: DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

Apparently this happens when drivers have not been properly installed, or are corrupted. So I assume, Adobe being the only thing I've downloaded lately, that it's the cause. I can count on one hand how many bluescreens I've ever had with my computer, but the tally in the last week is over 10 just since the update.

My question, problem, whathaveyou, is this: Is there a reliable place where I can revert back to the old version which, if occasionally tempermental, worked excellently on my system, or is there any way I can do something to fix this one so I can use my computer without fear of losing everything at the drop of a hat?

Incidentally, since downloading, I've also been having trouble just connecting to the internet. I use wireless, and the reciever is downstairs, so it's not a great distance away, but now enjoys randomly blipping out and refusing to recognizer the d-link driver. It also likes telling me I can plug it into a different slot for better efficiency, but if that one actually exists, I can't find it. I don't even have the number of connections it insists on, unless they're inside.

My computer's over 3 years old now- I worry all these dumps and problems might be harming it. Please, if there's anything that can be done...

Sorry about the spam posts in this forum; there is nothing we can do about it except to wait for a moderator to remove them.

Meanwhile posts like yours get lost in the jungle...

You mentioned that you have unchecked some box; was it Hardware Acceleration?  Is it still unchecked?  (Right-click on the Flash object at http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/, then select Settings.)  Or do you get a blue screen here too?

If that happens (blue screen), or if Hardware Acceleration is still unchecked, try to update the device drivers for your graphics/video/display adapter.

If that is not an option, or if your video drivers are already up-to-date, I recommend that you do a System Restore to a date before the update occurred.

You can also try to uninstall Flash Player (using the uninstaller from http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html ), then download and install an older FP version from http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/142/tn_14266.html

P.S. it may also be worth to try the latest Flash Player version 10.2.152.32

It's still unchecked, and I can view it without problem.

I'm not sure how to update my graphics... and such driver. I've never needed to before, and in my limited experience, when they blew, you simply replaced them. Since it's not completely black or failing to load, I don't know whether that means it's working fine or not, though...

I'll switch back to my 9-something one for now, and run it through the problem processes to see if that does it. I have the brand new one from the other day installed, which seems to be causing the trouble.

I'm actually a tad reluctant to do a restore since my computer only sometimes keeps them, I'm not sure why, and I worry about reverting back to a month ago or something. Having a slew of updates all at once... I don't know how well my system can take that, with the way it's acting right now.

Ah, the blue screen in question isn't the normal dreaded one, but more of a  failsafe. When it pops up, I can hear my system immediately shut down.I don't know whether that would be relevant or not, but it's something I noticed.

I've tried what you've suggested, without success. My sister's system is now threatening to do the same, but with far more warning than mine has ever given me, as she goes goes on youtube far more than I and can see the glitch threatening. Iin my case, ads seem to be the danger factor, as with 10.2 my blocker no longer works and they're always there.

I suggest you check the coding, or something, because this version seems to have brought about a number of problems. Also, I cannot quite figure out how to downgrade back to what I had, and I lose the files anyways- they don't stay in the proper place, never have, and don't show as a desktop icon unless I manually set them so. Something I'm tired of, really.

I'll be resorting to a full system reboot off my orinal recovery disk within the next week if it continues. My files are backed up, and only reluctance, and the knowledge that, if I do this, I'll still have to install adobe flash again anyways and might encounter the exact same problem regardless, holds me back.

Needless to say, I'm frustrated. If I'm short, I'm sorry. I'm writing quickly in an attempt to avoid a crash.

Please, I desperately need help. My system is now crashing and disconnecting from virtually all components- including my internet, hooked as it is through a usb port. A week ago, before this update, it worked fine. Please, please get to this soon. I don't know how long it will function before I have to back up my last few files and institute a complete reboot from my recovery disc.

Bumping, because the page has been filled with repetitive posts about streaming the Oscars.
