Hello,

Moodle allows you to create quiz in shockwave.

With the last version of Moodle, flash player and firefox on PC under Windows 10 I meet a bug.

A quiz with 20 questions, at the end the screen freeze and the score doesn't appears but a few secondes after, the last question appears.

It's like the player doesn't finish process to finaly showing the score.

This bug appears only in FF, chrome or IE on PC under windows 10

With Safari on PC or Mac or FF under Mac, no problem,

Do you know if something is different between the player/brownser with flash ?

Thanks

Regards

Chris

It's interesting that you're seeing a disparity in application behavior between Win10 and Mac.  It would be interesting to know if the problem also occurred on Win 7, just to differentiate whether it's a Mac vs. Windows thing, or an everything vs. Win 10 thing.

I'm not aware of an ongoing problem that would cause this.  Reproducing this issue while looking at the console or network tab of your browser's developer tools may provide some enlightening information about a non-responsive server (it sounds to me like something is waiting for a response to a request that ultimately times out) or other interesting error message.

I have two recommendations for how to proceed:

    • If Moodle is responsive, they're best positioned to isolate the problem in their product and identify whether it's a bug with their content, or whether something is really wrong at a language or runtime level.  At that point, if there is a Flash bug, we could potentially give them advice on a workaround until we can get the root problem fixed.  Feel free to forward this thread to them.  They're absolutely welcome to reach out to me directly, and we'll plug them into a conversation with the appropriate engineer(s).  Just click my name and send me a private message.

    • If you want to file a bug over at tracker.adobe.com with step-by-step instructions on how to reproduce the problem using one of their publicly accessible demos, I'd be happy to have someone reproduce the issue and debug it to determine where the problem is; however, if it's not our bug, that process will burn a lot of calendar days where the issue might otherwise have been investigated and resolved much faster by the content provider (it's ultimately easier to update a website than to patch ~2 billion users).
