Question

Can a swf video be stopped from looping without a video editor?

According to responses in this forum, all flash *.swf videos will loop regardless of the loop parameter used when embedding in html code.  If not, how can the looping be stopped without having a video editor?  If so, why does Adobe not correct the error that the loop parameter is ignored?

SWF files loop by default prior to saving or "exporting" from Flash Professional. An ActionScript command "stop ( );" prevents them from "looping". If the SWF's author doesn't add it, then the SWF will loop indefinitely by design. There is nothing in Flash Player which can prevent that. It simply plays the file according to the ActionScript embedded.
