Can't download Flash Player on Mac OS

About a week ago I got a pop-up on Google telling me that I needed the newest flash player plugin.  I went to Adobe's website and downloaded the newest flash player, but was told, upon the download's completion, that the "verification failed." I've downloaded it over and over again, each time receiving various error messages like "mounting failed," ""codec overrun" or just a generic error message.  I've read tons of forums and support sites, followed the directions but to no avail.  I even just reinstalled Mac OS onto my computer, but it didn't help.

I'd really appreciate some help!  Without a flash player (as I'm sure you know), I can't watch videos, movies, and pictures are corrupted.  THANKS!

I'm having the same problem! I'm so frustrated and I might have to wait 3 days to get someone from Adobe to respond. I notice this happened to you a few months ago- did you ever get it fixed? What did you have to do? I would really appreciate it if you could share what you did to fix this. I need to watch tutorials for my classes and I can't access them without Flash Player.

    Thanks.

Those error messages sound very unique. And you did a clean reinstall of OS X?  Makes no sense..

Here's what I think you should do..

    1. Open a web support case at http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer (there is no phone support for Flash Player, webcase only)

    2. Take screen shots (using the Grab utility) of each error message

    3. Submit those screen shots as attachments to your web case

    4. Post the case number to this thread

    5. Post the screen grabs as attachments to this thread

I'll try to check up on it.  You will probably get the usual tier 1 support email. Just insist on being escalated, and make sure they don't close the case.

    Thanks

This morning I tried opening my iTunes, but was told that iTunes

Library couldn't be opened because it had been on a newer version of

iTunes than the version I have now because I reinstalled OS X. So I

went to Apple's website and downloaded the newest version and got

another "verification failed" notification. So now my iTunes doesn't

    work, either.

Well that's an interesting sign of some wierd level of OS or hardware conflict/corruption (itunes doesn't use Flash Player in any way that I know of...)

Still, my previous information is a start. But at the same time I'd also be posting this to the apple forums..
