Can't get Adobe Flash Player to upgrade on Safari, Firefox, etc.

I've went through the troubleshooting numerous times and still cannot get it to upgrade. I've uninstalled it, restarted my computer and reinstalled it, but the version is still not up to date. The version is 9.0.28.0 , if that matters.

edit: I tried uninstalling and apparently it didn't uninstall. I went to this page (http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/) and it still showed the box on the right telling me my current version. Apparently it's not supposed to show if you don't have Adobe Flash Player. I made sure no applications were running (no IM's, browsers, games, anything) and it didn't uninstall for some reason.

Try to use the uninstaller from http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html

If FP is still not uninstalled, please list the files you have in C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash

B.t.w. what is your web browser? (Sorry, I just noticed that information in the topic subject.)
