can't install Flash player, MacIntel OSX, insufficient privileges-HELP?

I simply can't get the Flash player installation to finish on my Intel Mac Pro running OS 10.4.10. First I get error message, then an insufficient priivileges message. Can anyone help me? I've tried uninstalling all Flash players using downloaded uninstaller, then running Fix Permissions on my startup disk, then running the installer. The same thing happens. I'm really stuck, can't use Safari for many things I need to do. Thanks for any help.

    See sheewolf's postings in the Macromedia Flash Player forum. They fixed it for me :)
