Can't install FP-don't know how to close program DashboardClient.

Can't install FP-don't know how to close program DashboardClient.   OSX version 10.9.4.  I've searched all of my programs and can't find one called Dashboard Client.  I do have a Dashboard, but I am unable to close it.   FP downloads, then I'm asked to close Safari and my Dashboard client.  I can close Safari, but not Dashboard Client so I cannot get the update.  Can anyone help with this issue?
