Trying to install latest Flash update (version 22) on Mac running 10.11

Double click on the installer file, flash icon bounces for about 2 minutes in the dock; then nothing and no black for under the icon.

Any help with this much appreciated.

Same exact problem

- mac os x 10.11.5

- download AdobeFlashPlayer_22au_a_install.dmg

- launch Install Adobe Flash Player.app

- authorize with my permissions

- Under "Preferences" select "Notify me to install updates"

- click "Next"

- progress bar - Installing progress bar...

- error message "Installation failed. Click 'Finish' for further as..."

Install the Java update and all will work just fine.  I did that and no problems after that.

the problem appears to be with the install file itself.  I have no problem downloading it.  I have no problem unzipping it.  When I double-click on the "Install Adobe Flash Player" icon, it exhibits the behavior described by the original poster, that is, it bounces for about 2 minutes in the dock; then nothing happens and no black dot under the icon.  I have tried downloading the file multiple times, from different browsers.

Come on Adobe, fix this!  Obviously there's a problem, since a number of people are having the same issue!
