Question

Can't view videos even though Flash works other places

I have Flash Player 10 properly installed but I can't watch the videos on the right side of http://calbears.com.

Any idea what is causing the problem?

I recently installs  MVP HOSTS . Could that be the problem? If so, how do I fix it?

I have Windows XP SP3. I'm using IE 7 and I tried Firefox and the videos can't be seen there, either.

    Here are a few ideas:

    • Try an alternative browser
    • Unistall flash (google to find the tool that does this) and reinstall it
    • Clear temp files/cookies

    Good luck

    Thanks for the suggestions.

The problem was the HOSTS file.

I deleted ad.doubleclick.net and now I can see the videos.

Hi, I just went to the site and had no problem with playing the videos. Since you installed the MVP Hosts, do you have problems on other sites? If not perhaps that is blocking this site since it does have banners, etc. I don't know if you can

"pause" this program(not the calbear site) or not.

Can you remove this site from the list? Not too familiar with what you can or can't do.

If there is a way to contact the site that you installed this MVP Hosts from I think doing that may help.

    Thanks,

    Thanks so much for replying.

The HOSTS file was the problem. I was able to delete the entry for ad.doubleclick.net in the HOSTS file that was in c:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC using notepad and now I can see the videos

FYI, I got the HOSTS file here http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm.

    Thanks again.

Hi eabear, That site of the Hosts file is the exact same one I looked at Monday, just to see what it was. I've never used that. Glad you were able to delete it. At least you know what to do if it happens on any other sites:-)

Thanks for the feedback and marking it as answered.
