Can't watch anything

I have installed the latest 11.7 flash on my windows vista hp and it says that it has installed, but when i go to watch something instead of telling me i need to download flash it just never plays. What should I do?

What is your web browser?

What exactly do you see instead of the expected Flash content?

My browser is firefox. I see nothing but a black screen, and the little buffering circle.
