Cannot get flash to work, W7, FF47.0

Hi, and I hope someone will have the time to help me out.

I am running Windows 7, and I use FF 47.0.  I have the most recent version of flash: 22.0.0.192.

As of three days ago I did not have a problem playing games but I did suffer with constant and frequent flash plug in crashes. Then, starting three days ago it simply would not work at all. If I try to start a game it just times out. I have tried numerous things I have found on your website and several other websites, like Tom's Hardware. I have:  disabled hardware acceleration, cleared the flash browsing history and cache, deleted the flash player folders from Adobe and Macromedia, set the plugin to "ask to activate" (it is asking me now, but unfortunately for some reason the gaming site (I use WorldWinner) doesn't ask. If it's a news article or something and I activate it I can see the video.)

Any thoughts on what I can do to get flash to work for games again would be much appreciated.

FYI, when I updated flash recently the old plugin never disappeared, so now there are two.  When I try disabling the older one, it doesn't change anything.
