Hi, eveyrtime I try to install the flash player it comes up with an error saying "Activex control for flash player could not be registered". I have gone through the trouble shooting page twice now and not sure what I'm missing, I'm with Windows Vista and is a 32 bit version.

In the folder C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash there is the following:

install.log

Flash10i.ocx

FlashInstall.log

FlashUtil10i_ActiveX.Dll

FlashUtil10i_ActiveX.exe

If that helps?

Hi, go back to the Troubleshooting Guide and page down to here:

Common errors with Flash Player 10.1 installation Common errors with Flash Player 10.1 installation Then look at this error:

Error: The Flash Player ActiveX control could not be registered. It tells you the Cause and the Remedy. Now page back up and read and follow the instructions under :

    Verify user permissions

The Flash files that you have posted are correct, however the ActiveX Control cannot be Installed without using the Administrator Account or by confirming the above Permissions. Your Administrator Account would have been the first one set up when you set up your Computer.

Hope this helps explain your error and what you need to do.

I understand what you are saying but I am on the administrator account and it still won't install. With vista I can right click the application and it has a 'run as administrator' option. The only application there is flashUtil10i_ActiveX, and this uninstalls the flash player. Am I missing something with the confirming user permissions??
