Cannot install Flash 10.3 on Windows 7

I thought this would be the best place to start this discussion.

I've tried every trick in the book to install flash updates on my system with no luck. A few of my applications need Flash Player so I'm pulling my hair out at this stage.

Everytime I uninstall and then reinstall, I get an error, see below.

I'm installing as administrator and I've right clicked and run as administrator, no luck.

  • I'm running a 32 bit installation of Windows 7
  • Flash works nicely in Google Chrome,so its obviously a different version of Flash Player
  • Internet Explorer installation is the problem
  • I'm trying to install Flash Player 10.3
  • I'm running Bit Torrent Internet Security 2011

Any help with a fix will be much appreciated as I've had this problem for a long long time now

Ken

What you experience is a registry permission problem; see this article for the solution http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/494/cpsid_49419.html

Note that the download link for reset_fp10.zip is incorrect; download it from http://kb2.adobe.com/se/cps/494/cpsid_49419/attachments/reset_fp10.zip

P.S. Chrome comes with Flash Player preinstalled; that's why you don't get a problem with Chrome.
