cannot uninstall shockwave 9.0.45.0

I cannot uninstall shockwave 9.0.45.0. I have run the uninstall software as directed and deleted all files in the four locations. But when I check to verify, it finds version 9.0.45.0. However, this version does not appear in control panel/uninstall programs. I have found several npswf32.dll files in the Adobe program file folder, but none related to flash and I am afraid to dlete any associated with Acrobat, etc. I am on Windows 8 and the latest version of Mozilla Firefox (which I also deleted and reinstalled). Firefox will not allow a new version of flash as a plug-in because it is blocking the version 9.0.45 that it detects. So I have no flash.

I actually figured it out. I eventually found the 9.0.45 version of a npswf32.dll file in C:\Windows\System32. I deleted that file and everything is fine now.

    Hi Robert,

No need to post duplicate/identical posts.  This creates confusion.  I have deleted your other identical post.

    Please provide the following:

    • FlashInstall.log file, from C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash\.  If you have a 64-bit OS, also provide the file from C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash.
      • The log file(s) may be fairly large.  Please provide the install log file(s) using the instructions here How to share a document.
    • Screenshot of the files in the C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash\ directory.  Again, if this is a 64-bit OS, also provide a screenshot of the files in C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash

I apologize for the duplicate post. It was not intentional. I am not technical so all of this is very foreign to me. I am just trying to use flash in Firefox but it won't let me because it keeps recognizing 9.045.0 as a plug-in, which it blocks.

My OS is not 64 bit so that folder does not exist. The files in C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash\ are in the screenshot below. I have no idea what a log file is or how to find it.
