when i try to launch the trading platform on my stock brokerage account, i am told that my flashplayer is out of date. i went to get.adobe, and there is a note that my flashplayer is installed but disabled, i followed the instructions to enable, and on the 'plugins' page, it says my flash player is already enabled.i tried to install flashplayer again, and the process ends with a message "application initialization error". i have windows 8 and chrome 54.0.2840.99m, and flashplayer 23.0.0.185

Hi,

Google embeds Flash Player in Chrome so there is no need to install Flash Player for Chrome separately.

Try following the below mentioned steps:

  1. Launch Chrome and navigate to chrome://components
  2. When the components page displays, look for the pepper_flash entry
    • If it does not show Version: 23.0.0.207, click the Check for update button to update to 23.0.0.207
    • If it is showing Version: 23.0.0.207, you already have the latest Flash Player version.

Thanks!

thank you

i went to chrome://components, i didn't see 'pepper_flash', but i did see

'adobe flash player'. it says it is version 0.0.0.0, that seems odd.

anyways, it said 'status - no update', (that is what it said by all the

other components as well.)

i clicked on check for update, and all that happened was that in place of

'no update' in now said 'component not updated'.

Hi,

Did you try viewing Flash Content in chrome. If there is no Flash Plugin available on viewing flash content, Chrome fetches the plugin.

Thanks!
